I enjoy helping others to learn new things and I like learning new things from others.
My greates cooking triumph is when I was picked to make the Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey and dressing came out wounderful and tasty. The rest of the meal was not as hard to do.
My father-in-law liked my cooking, he asked me to make the mashed potatoes for the Sunday dinner. My sisters-in-law and mother-in-law helped me. I peeled the potatoes put them in the water to cook. I do not cook with salt. Between the three of them they put in the water a whole container of salt. I tried to pick the potatoes out, but when I turned to get some butter to put in the mixing bowl, my mother-in-law poured the water that was left in the bottom of the pan. At the dinner table my father-in-law took a very large amount of the potatoes and the bowl went around the table. Each person took some and some of the gravy. Then they all put some more salt on, knowing that I do not use salt. My father-in-law made a terrible face with the first fork full, looked at me and said not one word to me, but told the other three cooks that they had to eat the food that was fixed, because she, meaning me, had help that was not need fixing the potatoes. After that no one helped me fix the food I was to be making.
Keep a smile on your face and the problem is not as bad.
