About Me: Dh and I are empty nesters living in metro Atlanta. We have 2 wonderful adult children - son lives nearby and was married in May, daughter works and lives in Hollywood. She is engaged and will be married in October. I taught elementary school for 20 years, and I now teach college classes. I am also an administrator at the county office now, so I do not directly work with children anymore and I miss that.

My Greatest Cooking Triumph: I am an everyday cook who enjoys tweaking recipes and creating new ones. I guess my greatest triumphs in the kitchen are passing along my love of cooking to my kids.

My Biggest Kitchen Disaster: The first time I made fried chicken (1973) I was so proud of how beautiful and crispy the chicken looked. That excitement quickly turned to frustration as we cut into the chicken and it was still raw inside. Yuck!

My Food For Thought: Recipes are meant to be tweaked! Experiment and have fun with recipes - sometimes you come up with something wonderful and new, and sometimes you don't, but that is how you learn.
