I am a 50 year old, married 33 years to my best friend, mom and grandma. I live in south central Arizona about 80 miles from my birthplace. We all live together, hubby, son, daughter in law and four grandchildren, on about three acres and have six dogs and five cats plus the occasional stray! I am a retired chef/teacher and a writer. I stay busy writing childrens books, poetry and cookbooks and also creating new and wonderful recipes for my family to enjoy!
Feeding up to 250 people three meals a day for the year that I ran a homeless shelter in Iowa. My Father came to visit and as he watched me running the kitchen he smiled and said how proud he was of me. This meant more to me than any prize or award for my work. Second was the first time I saw my first cookbook in print!
The Thanksgiving when everyone insisted that I put marshmallows on the sweet potatoes, something I never do, and after burning them three times in a row I caught the oven on fire!
No recipe is scripture, just a guideline. Be creative and make it your own!
