Chock-full of veggies and topped off with golden-brown biscuits and Alfredo sauce, this casserole from Cheryl Miller in Fort Collins, Colorado will warm you through. “It's fun to prepare and has the most excellent flavor,” Cheryl says. TIP: “I like to serve it with a crisp green salad.”
I start this soup in the morning, and by evening, dinner's ready to go! My family loves all of the hearty vegetable and sausage pieces, all smothered in a zesty tomato broth. —Cathy Logan Sparks, Nevada
Meet the Cook: Next to hamburger, round steak probably is the most frequent dinner "guest" at our place! I'm always experimenting with recipes, changing them to fit our tastes...this one's easy and good. Our little town has a post office, a cafe, two gas stations and two country stores. My husband and I have a pair of sons, 13 and 9, and a daughter, 7. I work part-time in the cafeteria at their school (it's small, with only about 100 students or so) helping prepare lunch. -Deborah Cole, Wolf Creek, Oregon
Sweet and tangy, these kabobs have a delicious kick, thanks to the hot pepper sauce. My recipe can be adapted to add your favorite vegetables. It's great with rice and a fresh salad.
