I have always loved to cook and especially bake, since I was small. If I crave it, I make it. I collect recipes, like most of us here on this site and started out collecting actual cookbooks and magazines. Thank goodness for virtual recipe boxes. I'm a widow with two small children, living in southwest Missouri. People here are kind and generous and much smarter than the rest of the world gives them credit for.
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
Perfecting my cheesecake and making homemeade caramels. Also, learning to decorate and stack wedding cakes..that's really hard.
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
Stupid things happen to me..like coming 1/2 cup short of oats after I've already mixed the rest of the cookie ingredients together because I didn't bother to make sure I had enough before I started. The electricity has gone out in the middle of cooking a pot roast. "Someone" drank all the beer so no beer bread one night. I can't keep my fingers out of the cream cheese frosting long enough to frost the carrot cake. Awesome.
My Interests
Cheesecake. Butter. Debauchery. Anything involving cheese. Humor. Smelling good. I like a good pizza. Tomfoolery.
