I'm a 50-something single mom with a 22-year-old daughter, and have a background in retail. I'd love to try scrapbooking, and I really love going to Florida !
I suppose it would be the Apple Strudel I made for my dad several years ago, a couple of times. I had to roll the dough out really thin, and it took a while to make, but it was definitely worth it.
There have been a few of those, out of trial and error, but recently I guess the biggest one I can think of was a batch of Mexican Wedding cookies I made with a new recipe, since I couldn't find the cookbook with the usual recipe that I had used in the past. I was making them for a Christmas party at work, and was able to salvage just a few that I could actually bring. Also, my first attempt at Key Lime Pie wasn't so good either, since the condensed milk I used ended up being past it's prime, as it had been sitting in my cupboard for longer than I realized.
I guess it would be learning from my mistakes, or at least what I didn't like the first time. Also, whatever it is, whether it's a storebought spaghetti sauce, or a recipe from another source, I always like to add a little something extra or something different to make it "mine".
