About Me
No profile added.
59 yo wife, mother of 2, grandmother of 5 (2 boys and 3 girls) I was born in California but mostly raised in South Carolina and Virginia from the time I was 5. I LOVE being a GRITS (girl raised in the south). Cooking is important to me because presenting my family with delicious and comforting food for me tells them I love them. I like to raise my own veggies and herbs and have an herb garden just outside my kitchen door.
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
I prepared International Dinners for our church's Lenten Dinners for 6 weeks in a row - feeding an average of 60 people each week - doing all the cooking myself. We visited Mexico, Italy, Ireland, France, Germany and Greece. The icing on my cake was when one woman told me she had lived in Greece for several years and my cooking was "authentic". Many people also asked for recipes.
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
I've had several disasters but the biggest one was when I tried to pan fry some semi-frozen fish. We threw it out and ordered from Taco Bell. That was a sad night for me...but a learning experience that absolutely will NOT happen again! LOL!
My Food For Thought
The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.
My Interests
COOKING - reading cookbooks and romance novels - Gardening, sewing and machine emboidery, taking care of my grandchildren as they are the best!
