I have been cooking since the age of four - much too young to read a recipe. Mom would stand-by and watch as my instincts would carry me through some of the most complex dishes, for a preschooler. In my earliest memories, mom would have to light the oven for me, and would help me move baking pans in and out of the oven. As far back as anyone can remember - back to the original pioneer families, the family had amazing cooking skills and even wrote many of their recipes for all posterity to enjoy. Years later, with many cooking demonstrations and as many cooking classes, under my belt, I can sit and watch as my son who graduated with a cooking degree, shares with me his precision chef creations. What a fun life I have!
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
I have the knack to recreate restaurant recipes. Many favorites can now be served in my own kitchen without having to stand in line to wait for a table, or rely on someone else's idea of a copied recipe.
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
When the ovens had gone down, I attempted to make bread in a toaster oven - results.......burned top, undercooked doughy middle; what a waste of good yeast!
