About Me
No profile added.
My husband and I have two teenaged sons. We both work full time, and alternate days where we are responsible for making dinner. I have Mon, Tues, he has Wed, Thu, Friday are pizza night, and weekends are a free for all. We are trying very hard to eat better, and are always on the lookout for healthy meals that actually taste good.
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
...was realizing that I actually enjoyed cooking. I spent the first 35 years of my life believing that "if it dirties more than one pot, it's too much work". It was actually a Taste of Home contest winning recipe magazine that I bought on a whim that turned me on to cooking. I followed one of the recipes and it was actually good - a success - and I got praise. I felt accomplished. It was right then that I decided there might be something to this cooking thing after all.
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
Learning how important getting the oil hot enough is before trying to fry something. Holy mushy squishy mess.
