About Me
No profile added.
I am married and have a 20 year old son. I live in the beautiful area of Monterey County, California. I am an avid cook and aspiring gourmet cook. I prefer to make my recipes "From Scratch"-- that is, no canned soups, mixes, cool whip or any kind of processed foods. That's what I like about Rachael Ray's recipes and most of the recipes I finid on Light & Tasty
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
Learning how to make a Bernaise sauce and to cook a filet mignon to perfection! Now, I can make a romantic candlelight anniversary dinner at home, for a fraction of the cost-- and my husband really appreciates it.
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
The day I tried to make Apple Brown Betty. I definitely didn't follow directions very well-- the dish tasted like a bunch of dried bread crumbs. My best friend was reaching for water. Embarrassing!
My Food For Thought
Cooking healthy, homemade meals aren't that complicated. I believe that if you set up your pantry with all the essential pantry staples, take the time to plan at least a few days's worth of meals in advance-- you can put together a fantastic dinner in less than 30 minutes. My secret for great flavor-- garlic! Lots of garlic! Herbs. Red Bell pepper. Caramelized onions-- just smother anything with garlic and onions, and it's fantastic!
