About Me
No profile added.
I love to cook. I have been cooking since I was 12 years old. Nothing fancy mind you, just good food. I love cooking for a crowd and see the happy faces. I no longer have anyone to really cook for. so I don't do much cooking, unless there is a Potluck, or Charity, or Church group function, or to share desserts at the Holidays. I love going through all the Taste of Home Magazines and still buy them if I find some receipes that I like and sound good to me...kinda of funny, since I never make them....just a hobby of mine I guess. I have so many of the Taste of Home Cookbooks and all are brand new, I guess I am just a collector. I do have other cookbooks also, that I have had for years. I love to create scrapbooks for family members, and create simple jewerly for them as well, or anyone that is a good friend to give as gifts or just for the heck of it. Recently I have started to use a simple white can that I buy at Michael's and decorate the entire can and lid which have been used for Baby Gifts (items can be placed in can). It is a challenge to come up with a design which will have the name of the baby, that is still in uterio, and at the same time to match the room decor....so far so good. I am an animal lover. I have 1 Pug and 3 domestic cats....and I love them all. I especially love all babies and toddlers, so little, cute and huggable. I like all children, but the little ones hold a special place in my heart.
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
I have had more than one cooking triumph with several of the receipes I got from Taste of Home Magazine. One especially was a Turkey Dinner for Thanksgiving. From the Turkey, some of the other fixings, including Dinner Rolls was a success. Deserts have been very successful...
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
When I was a teenager at 17, many years ago, I made a Lemon Meringue Pie out of a receipe I found in the Seventeen Magazine. The Lemon part after being cooked came out like soup...it was awful and embarrasing. The worst part is my Mother made me eat at least one piece, never figured out why, I just followed the receipe with her watching...maybe so I learn to read the receipe and ingredients and compare with other receipes to see if maybe a discrepancy in liquid would be found. I have to admit, that I careful read every ingredient and can determine if it would be too salty, sweet or not come out good.
My Food For Thought
Enjoy your food, eat slowly and savor every bit, and don't forget to compliment the cook.
