I am married to my High School Sweetheart for 51 years. We have 8 children, 2 boys and 6 girls. All are grown with 7 married. We have 19 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grand children. Our family is scattered to Pa, Ga., Ky. Ind. Va., and Co. This makes family gathering difficult at best. Last year we had all but 2 of the DGSs come for a big celebration of our 50th Anniversary. I belong to two Quilt Guilds and really enjoy my quilting. I have worked in the past as a Professional Cook, and as an IBM keypunch Operator. I have Arthritis which keeps me from one of my loves--gardening. I have had it since I was in my early 20s and have learned to live with it as best I can. I love being here on the Grannies Neighborhood, and have met several and love all, those I have and have not met.
Feeding the Boys Basketball Team of 15 boys, 3 Coaches and 2 Teen team helpers. My DD was the Team Trainer. We fed them Lasagna,salad,garlic bread and cold Tea. I made them several Pies and a Chocolate cake. I got a hug from all the boys. Reward enough. :o)
Invited a Friend and his family for a meal and forgot that everyone doesn't call the evening meal Dinner. They showed up at noon just as we sat down to Mac and Cheese and burgers. Didn't have enough to go around. Had to really scramble, and told them what happened. We all laughed that one off and we were invited to their house two weeks later for Dinner. I made sure what they meant by DINNER!
Life is short, live it as if today were your last day here. It might well be. So be prepared for eternity.
