About Me
No profile added.
I am an elderly, heavy set, arthritic, balding, old woman. I get cranky very often but I laugh a lot too. I have permanent laugh lines that no amount of camouflage will hide. My biggest battle right now is against smoking. I quit a year ago but the yearning is still there. I am still recouperating from medical problems. I am slow, but I insist on carrying on. Everybody else keeps insisting I don't. I love cooking, but because my hands don't work too well, I need help from others to do those things that we all do continuously, like opening cans, lifting a cook pot, or opening a jar. I can type real well, except for the numbers that creep in because my fingers won't bend, but I know what I tried to say. I retired a long time ago but my DH says I still think I'm in charge.
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
It only took me six years to get a meal cooked that my mother-in-law didn't tell me was wrong. I thought it was a triumph. It took my eldest daughter 11 years to get hers done and approved. It was a Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding. Actually my mil said it was too rare and she didn't care much for Yorkshire Pudding. By the time I got to eat the puddings were gone, and the rare meat had vanished. She scarfed it up like she hadn't seen it before.
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
I was making a stuffing for a chicken I was going to roast for my folks. I thought I had bread crumbs to add to the stuffing I had put together before adding it to the bird, but instead I had grabbed the browned flour. That had to be the ickiest stuffing ever. My mom is now almost 90 but she still hasn't forgotten about it.
My Food For Thought
Share a smile, it doesnt cost a dime yet it always gives pleasure.
