I am going for an AAS in Accounting Technology. I am engaged to a man I do not deserve. He is so good to me. We long so badly to live in Santa Cruz California. I hate winter, cold weather, and snow. It is so true that PA has the worst roads. Pot holes open back up within a week of being filled. There are no jobs around here, unless you can survive on minimum wage. I would love to have my own cafe where I can change the menu everyday. A cafe, in California, that would be my ecstasy. My favorite shows are Charmed, CSI Miami, and Crossing Jordan. My favorite bands are Saliva, Breaking Benjamin, and Three Days Grace. I also love Celine Dion, Mandy Moore, Pink, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera.
Probably cooking 8 dishes in a day. It was for Christmas. I made cookies for my fiance's family, muffins for the women on my side, brownies for the guys on my side, plus 5 dishes for Christmas dinner. Oh yeah, thinking of giving food as gifts was a brilliant triumph on my part too. It saved a lot of money, and I included the recipe, so everybody loved it. Due to financial circumstances, my fiance and I have not been able to do Christmas for the past two years.
I've been surprised so far as to how fast I learned to cook, and how good I am at it. I have an ego with that. A restaurant opened in my town, and it is up for sale in the same year. I said that it's because they didn't hire me to be their cook. Not that I am qualified or anything. But, my big goof-up was making tacos. Something so simple that I had made about 10 times before. I was busy doing other things, so I didn't stir the meat as it was simmering with the spices, and it came out of the pan in one big block, totally burnt to a crisp on the bottom. I mean BURNT!
It's not hard to cook. You just have to follow the recipe and do what it says. I do not have the talent for coming up with the recipes (unless they are too simple for words), but we all have to cook at some point in our lives, and microwave entrees do not count! My gram was always an excellent cook, but as she is getting older, she thinks she can look and judge how much of something to put in the recipe without measuring. Her food quality has been depreciating. I believe that you should measure always.
