I love cooking and baking. I am mostly self-taught and have benefited from a love of cookbooks and cooking shows over the years. Married for 15+ years, I love making wonderful meals and treats for my family. We live in the Oklahoma City metro area and I work full-time from home, managing my husband's freelance business. Our two daughters and three dogs keep us busy and happy. I enjoy spending time with friends and helping at church on a regular basis. I am an avid reader and internet research is a huge hobby of mine as well. I'm happiest in the kitchen, unless it involves the clean-up part of things.
My greatest cooking triumph was tackling a very intimidating New York Style Cheesecake recipe. This recipe involves making cookies to crumble for the crust, baking in a water bath and the entire process takes a long time. While this was no quick-fix dessert, the results were the best cheesecake my family has ever tasted anywhere!
I'll never forget when I had a country-style kitchen decor. I thought it would be cute to keep my baking supplies in huge canning jars. It was very eye-pleasing but somehow it wasn't worth the decorating pizzaz after I accidentally substituted baking soda for corn starch in a cobbler recipe. Ick!
