I am 51 years old and just moved to Tennessee from Ohio with my Charlie, my husband of 18+years, who is retired from the Defense Department. I worked as a computer specialist with the Department of Defense for 25 years, but quit in order to move. I am a born-again Christian and have a 25-year old stepdaughter named Ashley who is working on her bachelor's degree in business and also on finding a boyfriend, not necessarily in that order. I also have a neurotic 7-year-old poodle named Sugar; we got her from a rescue society, and she loves us but is suspicious of everyone else. I am looking forward during this period of unemployed free time to finally trying TOH recipes from my collection of 15 years, as well as from my cookbook collection (about 200 books so far).
Compliments from several work potlucks for recipes for ham/onion spread, white chicken chili, and banana bread.
Cooked a pan of lasagna and took it out of the oven; for some reason I rested the pan on the open oven door and the pan slid off the door. I watched in horror as the lasagna slithered out of the pan onto the dining room carpet (our kitchen was right next to the dining room). My face was red, the carpet turned red, and my husband walked in the door just then to catch me reviling (in a loud voice) the innocent pan of lasagna. I was so upset that he took me out to eat after we cleaned up the mess. My husband is a saint, needless to say.
