My hobbies and interests already listed kinda say it all, don't ya think? Just a country gal, homemaker with a husband, two grown sons now on their own, love learning new things, new hobbies, never been bored a day in my life. I usually concentrate on one or two or more interests at a time and haven't really ever given up a hobby, even though I add new ones each year. Seems I always go back to the original hobbies at some point and do more work on them from time to time. Also have many, many unfinished projects that get a little attention whenever I get the chance, such as afghans and quilts. Twenty-four hours in a day is just NOT enough time for all the interests that I currently have.
Canning. I used to can so much stuff from the garden, 8 flavors of jelly, my own pumpkin, my own relish and pickles, my own ketchup, spaghetti sauce, chili sauce, pizza sauce, taco sauce, fruit juices, fruit for pies and plain eating, as well as applesauces. Also got into candymaking and cake/cookie decorating over the years.
Typically, have a small kitchen fire every year or so which has fortunately always been when my husband is there and he puts it out for me. No damages so far, thankfully!!! Or it could've been the first cake from scratch that I made that was so terrible that when it was thrown out in the scraps, even the goats and wildlife wouldn't eat it. There was also the 4 layer cake that lost the top 2 layers, just slid right off onto the table. The chestnuts roasting in the oven that exploded everywhere was pretty exciting also. And the first TV dinner that was baked in the oven in the box, or the first roaster chicken that didn't have the innards removed. Cooking is a learning process........
Enjoy today. Tomorrow comes so soon and the present becomes a treasured yesterday.
