I am a single mother to a wonderful teenage son. I have always loved to cook, bake and can foods. I learned from my Mother, both Grandmothers, and various Aunts and cousins as well as classes in high school. I love to experiment and change recipes around. Recipes I made back in the "earlier" years of my cooking, I'm working to update.
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
Having recipes published in Country Magazine as well as Favorite Brand Name Recipes magazine and Southern Living Magazine. I have had two recipes in Southern Living's Annual Recipes Cookbooks (back in the late 1970s). I have had recipes in The Best of Country Cooking 1998 and 2011. I love to cook, bake and can. I enjoy passing cooking traditions on to my son.
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
I was making some biscuits that called for self-rising flour, only I used all purpose flour instead and they were horrible. Needless to say they would have made great hockey pucks!
My Food For Thought
We need to preserve and pass on cooking traditions to the younger generation.
My Interests
My passion is cooking, baking and canning. I also love working on the family genealogy. I'm also interesting in plastic canvas needlepoint, crocheting, knitting and reading.
