About Me
No profile added.
I am from a family of 6 (5 girls, 1 boy). We lost our oldest sister in 1988 from cancer. I have been blessed with many nieces and nephews. I have been married to a wonderful man, Roy for 22 yrs (8-30-08). I have one adult step daughter. I am a community volunteer, very active in my community of Plano Texas. Since about 1994 I became a big volunteer with the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation but today I am not only involved with SGK but anything to do with children with cancer or youth. I have 4 step granddaughters (drop the step!) that lost their biological mother in 1998 from breast cancer. My step daughter married their father May 2002 which has been a true blessing to my husband Roy and me. I love to walk. I am President of a walking club in Plano and my husband and I walk daily beginning at 6 am. I love making Santa's and mohair bears (all from scratch) to give to charity, family and friends.
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
I think each time I complete a meal with large family gathering at Christmas (siblings) 30 to 35 people or one with my husband/daughter/son-in-law and 4 granddaughters that they are all triumph!
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
In 1969 using a pressure cooker the rubber piece inside the lid needed replacing I guess and caused flames to come out of the cooker and the lid popped open. Luckily no one was burned or hurt.
My Food For Thought
I am always amazed as I think back to my early years in school or times spent growing up and think how much I hated to cook to the love I have for it today.
