About Me
No profile added.
I'm 66 years of age and still work fulltime in a job I really enjoy working with people and events all the time. My hubby and I have two daughters who we are devoted to, but sadly no grandchildren at this time. I live a very full and busy life with my hubby who is semi-retired. I'm a real homebody though when not working and enjoy shopping with my daughters and having people over for get-togethers.
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
My very first wedding cake which I made about 35 years ago! My mother used to create beautiful cakes for weddings and special occasions and I decided to do the same when my daughters were growing up and I didn't have a full time job. That first wedding cake and all the trepidation of delivering it intact, was probably my greatest cooking/baking triumph!
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
I was making potica many years ago in my house that had a very tiny kitchen. I was also baking two wedding cakes that weekend as well. I made a huge batch of dough for my potica and placed it in one of the Tupperware LARGE bowls to rise in the oven. What I failed to remember, was that I had been baking cakes for my wedding cakes and forgot to turn the oven off! Oh My Gosh! I began to smell a very wierd acid/yeast dough smell. Opened the oven door and there was this HUGE mass of dough and it was sitting on what was A HUGE, green tupperware bowl which had melted all over the oven grate. Had to take everything out of the oven, take the whole mess outside into the yard, let it cool off and then had to chisle all of the plastic off the oven grate. That's what happens when you are doing too many things at once!
My Food For Thought
Appreciate all you have in life and don't dwell on what you don't have! Keep a good sense of humor handy and enjoy your family and friends!
