My Greatest Cooking TriumphI have too many to list being "the" cook for our church events, but an especially enjoyable event was a Mother's Day High Tea complete with several different tea sandwiches, tea cakes, sherbet and Earl Grey tea!
My Biggest Kitchen DisasterMy first Thanksgiving dinner that I cooked for my husband included sweet potato casserole with marshmallows on top. Apparently, I put too many marshmallows on top! My husband and I smelled a burning smell coming from the kitchen. When we rushed to the kitchen and opened the oven, the oxygen rushing into the oven caused the marshmallows that were falling from the casserole to briefly burst into flames!! We pulled out the oven rack and blew the flames out. In silence, we turned to look at each other and started laughing out loud!! We had a mess to clean up, but we sure had fun eating the toasted marshmallows off the oven door!!
