I use to be a professional chef, my husband and I use to love to cook together. I loved working with fruit and crudites trays. All aspects of catering. Now that I am disabled from an injury, I have all these great recipes to someday have a recipe book, but for now my wonderful husband is the chef. I was an artist I modeled I love to sing especially praise and worship music. I will be writing a book soon. I love animals I had a beautiful angel of a cat named Boo. I have a great son and daughter-in-law and 3 beautiful grandsons>Christian, Ethan, and Ryan! I am happily married for (34 wonderful years)! I love to go back and look at my grandmothers and mothers recipes and creating my own, as I love writing poetry too!!
Mastering the technique in cooking and baking without measuring. This came naturally to me when I was a chef. Making beautiful crudites and fruit trays as well as cheese trays and horsdoeuvres on mirrored glass. Teaching others to cook and bake and to carve apples into swans, oranges into birds etc..
Oh my gosh when I was to make a cake for my sons school. I was making it from scratch and when I was mixing the batter up I inadvertently reach for more cake flour in those old Tupperware containers and grabbed the confectioners sugar instead and mixed it in. The while it baked in the oven I wondered why only the edges where getting done and the middle was like pudding!? But all was not lost I turned it into pudding parfait although a bit sweet. Another one was my first ever home made chicken soup I added so much stuff my soup turned into chicken stew.
Just keep what your doing and give it your best. Don't be afraid to try new recipes, it's never to old to learn to bake or cook. If you don't always have the right utensils or always have the right ingredients (in most cases) improvise it works for me. Don't be afraid to experiment with recipes. Laugh at your cooking mistakes or disasters, who said it you cry over spilled milk you can but crying over something spilled never cleaned up for me. Just do what you do best!
