Ever since I was a little girl I've loved food. My mom worried I was going to be severly overweight because even as a young child I always had a great appetite and enjoyed food so much. I love cooking, but I also love discovering new restaurants whether they are the latest trend or the best hole in the wall find -- and that is the best part about exploring a new city or country -- the food!
I would say not ruining a $100 piece of beef tenderloin for a group of 8 people. It was my first pan seared then straight to the oven in the pan tenderloin and it was perfection! I was so nervous that I had paid so much money for the meat at a great neighborhood butcher -- and that I would ruin it by overcooking it. I followed the recipe and it came out great and was a big success.
Anything to do with baking. I like cooking b/c you don't have to follow the recipe exactly -- I can add my own "flavor" -- but in baking -- I always follow recipes to the tee and they still don't come out right -- a chocolate bundt cake that was so dry it was WORSE than sand paper!!!! It was not my most shining moment to say the least!
Eat to Run or Run to Eat???? BOTH!!!
