I am retired but work 2 days a week as the people greeter at the Walmart in my town. It prevents me from becoming a total hermit. I am quite content puttering around my home and am happiest when I am working in the garden, both flowers and vegetables. I am the mother of two grown children, one a teacher, the other works in Thailand. I am grandma to 1 granddaughter and 3 grandsons.

  • Catfish Cakes

These cakes are crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside—a real treat! I like to serve them with hush puppies and coleslaw. I developed the recipe to put to good use all the catfish we catch at our lake cabin. —Jan Campbell, Purvis, Mississippi
