About Me
No profile added.
I was born in San Diego, CA, and now live in North San Diego county. (See why I like to travel)? I was born July 25, 1947. I am married and have two grown children and am a Grandma to one young man, Brandon. He will be 17 September 8th. We had a Granddaughter Alexian Jade, but she passed-on 8 days before her 4th birthday in 1996. My son Jim, has never married. He's trying to find a strong Christian woman, but hasn't had much luck yet. Of course, he'd like a pretty one too!
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
Daughter Krista helped me treat my special SIL Chris, and 12 other family members visiting, to an excellent dinner. Chris told me that was the first time anyone had offered to bring dinner to her so that made us even happier with our idea. As she never knew exactly how many relatives would be there we made extra so we joined them for dinner. I had planned to just prepare everything and leave them to it. We had a great family gathering with lots of love, laughter and a meal that was served without a hitch. (WHEW)! We served a great appetizer, stuffed chicken breasts, overnight mashed potatoes, oven-roasted asparagus, salad and desert - My nephew's (and my brother Gary's) favorite cookie - recipe left to us by our mom - and Krista's mini-lemon tarts with homemade lemon curd, topped with raspberries for garnish. Yum!
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
Overnight french toast I made for a brunch. I used a 13x9" pan even though it called for a slightly larger pan. I then topped it with the called for topping: butter, nuts and brown sugar. The topping ran over, filled the house with smoke and the alarm went off. Our guests arrived as we were trying to clear the air. Fortunately, our alarm system didn't call the Fire Department!
My Food For Thought
Faith is an invisible means of support.
