My Greatest Cooking TriumphI have always feared the croissant. That being said, about a year ago, for no special reason, I decided to conquer that fear. I actually made croissants, from scratch. Yeast dough wrapped around a block of chilled butter, turned and folded many times. They were perfect!!! Crispy on the outside, light and buttery on the inside.
My Biggest Kitchen DisasterMy poor husband suffered through some pretty terrible meals when we were first married!! The worst has to be the eggplant lasagne. I didn't salt or precook the eggplant, just sliced it, and layered it I the pan with sauce and ricotta cheese. I baked it until it was a beautiful golden brown on top, cut into it, and the eggplant was totally raw, the sauce and cheese were watery. It was bitter and nasty!! Needless to say, we called out for pizza. I still make eggplant lasagne, it is actually one of out favorite low carb dishes, it's just edible now.
