Professional: I am the editor of Taste of Home and Country Woman magazines—an exciting and delicious job! Working with our readers, editorial team, Test Kitchen staff and photo studio, I help with planning and producing issues of the magazine and the related content at www.tasteofhome.com Personal: Married 38 years to Louis Kaiser, an attorney with a family law practice. We have two grown sons and five (fabulous) grandchildren.
Some years back, we became friends (through our church) with a couple who owned a long-established, fine-dining restaurant and invited them to dinner with a few other guests. I was a nervous wreck, but with tested recipes from Taste of Home and Country Woman, served a crown roast of pork dinner with all the trimmings. The restaurant owner liked the spinach salad I fixed so well that he asked for the recipe and soon put it on his restaurant menu as "Kaiser (my last name) Salad."
When a friend shared his garden bounty, I picked up what I thought was a colorful squash. It was very hard—too hard to cut—so I decided to cook it in the microwave to soften it up. I tried to prick it a few times with a fork, but barely pierced the skin. A few minutes later, a big explosion blew open the microwave door and splattered the innards of what was really a GOURD all over my kitchen! Thankfully, no one was in front of the door.
To show a family member, friend or neighbor that you care, cooking or baking something just for them is a delicious way to deliver the message.
