About Me
No profile added.
I am a trauma nurse in the busiest ER in the state of Florida. I am married and have a beautiful 8-month-old baby boy and a three-year-old Bichon Poodle mix. On my days off I keep busy with my son (he recently learned how to crawl and is now pulling himself up to a standing position!) and I also cook as much of his food as I can from scratch. He will eat jarred food when we are out, but at home it's home cooking! It's SO much cheaper, too, for all the new moms/soon-to-be moms. One two-pack of baby food at Wal-Mart is about $1, and now my son can eat two to three at a time. I can buy a two-pound bag of vegetables for $1.87 at my grocery store and have enough veggies to last him two weeks!!! I look forward to finding new recipes to try out on my husband, we both love trying new things!
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
My freshman year of college I decided to make a stir-fry using a bottled marinade instead of ordering pizza like usual. When I brought a bowl of it up to the lounge, my friend took a bite and asked me what Chinese restaurant I ordered it from. She was very surprised to know that I made it myself!
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
When I first started cooking, I thought I would be creative and "doctor-up" a jarred spaghetti sauce. I added all the ingredients I thought should go in it, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, etc. I ended up adding TOO much, and the sauce was granulated by the time I was through with. I tried to eat it anyway, but it was inedible. Lucky for me, nobody else had to suffer, I was home alone.
My Food For Thought
Nothing is bad for you, as long as it is in moderation. Yes, you can have two or three pieces of pizza for dinner, just not the whole box, and not every day. If you crave something, indulge in it, because if you don't, you will gorge later and regret it.
