My Greatest Cooking Triumph
Making a Thanksgiving dinner almost as good as I remember my grandmother's was.
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
Again Thanksgiving. We bought a new double oven just in time to make Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was a beautiful golden brown. I pulled out the oven rack half way, and the oven, (which was supposed to be anchored to the wall), fell on me. The turkey bounced out of the pan, onto the floor. The floor had been freshly mopped, but I checked the bird for dirt and using a wooden spoon in the cavity and a meat carving fork, attempted to lift it. The turkey slipped off and fell on the floor again! The turkey was steaming hot and I couldn't touch it, so I put the serving platter on the floor and tried my method again, it worked this time.
My Food For Thought
The best book I have read on nutrition is: Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon. I recommend that everyone read it. I'm always on the look out for new recipies for healthy foods like winter squash and pumpkin.
