About Me
No profile added.
I'm just starting to try gluten free recipes for my son's benefit. I'm hoping to gradually reduce the gluten in his diet and replace it with palatable stuff. We'd have a mutiny on our hands if I tried to do it drastically at once. Luckily, none of us has a diagnosis that would make that neccesary.
My Greatest Cooking Triumph
I took the Wilton cake decorating classes a few years back, and made a fantastic three-tiered cake for a combined family anniversary party. It turned out beautiful!
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
I recently tried a Bob's Red Mill GF Bread Mix. I accidentally turned on the wrong oven, and had to heat the other one. Meanwhile, the pan of dough/batter continued to rise while waiting on the counter. The result reminded me of an I Love Lucy episode where the bread she bakes takes on a life of it's own and takes over the kitchen. It turned out huge! Tasted ok, and we ate it any way. Not really a disaster, but funny.
My Food For Thought
I always follow new recipes to the letter the first time. If it's worth making again, then I'll springboard from the recipe next time.
