My Greatest Cooking Triumph
Baking and decorating--icing roses and sweet peas included--a 3 tier wedding cake when I never attempted such an endeavor before--it came out beautiful!
My Biggest Kitchen Disaster
When I was a teenager, I was spending a weekend at my cousin's and decided to make her family a breakfast roll recipe I had seen in the current Pillsbury Bake-Off cookbook. Irummaged around in the kitch, got all of the ingrdients out and made the rolls. When they were done, they looked great and I was very proud. Her family all took one and had funny looks on their faces, but were complimentary. I took one and spit out my first bite! My aunt stored her salt in a canister. I thought it was her sugar!! We have laughed about it many times over the years!!!
My Food For Thought
I am a firm believer in presentation--presentation--presentation! I always stress it when teaching a young or inexperienced person cooking and baking. I always told my kids that even the simplest, most inexpensive meal can look fantastic when you take the time to present it well!!!
