My Greatest Cooking TriumphI think that my greatest triumph is the fact that everything I make keeps getting better and better the longer I have cooked. I remember when I was in middle school and I loved to fix dinner for my parents after school. They loved having a hot meal when they came home from work. I think it is funny to recall making recipes, but leaving out things a 13 year old doesn't like. Much of my food back then lacked flavor because I thought that onions and peppers were gross. I knew nothing about spices. I was only good at a few dishes, so there wasn't much variety. My patient parents ate many bland meals over and over again. Now, I experiment and try a new recipe at least once a week. My husband is a very happy man!
My Biggest Kitchen DisasterI would have to say that my biggest kitchen disaster would have to involve my crockpot. If I have something that doesn't turn out, it has to do with the crockpot. I have thrown away lots of food because I forgot to turn the crockpot on in the morning before I left. I come home expecting to smell something yummy, but there is not smell to pork chops that didn't get cooked. My other crockpot disasters involve over cooked food from the crockpot- I don't like mushy food.
My Food For ThoughtCookies should always be the same size. If something doesn't look right or taste right, play with it until it does- the recipe isn't always right. Food is love- share it with everyone!
