About Me: Retired H.S. English teacher, lived in Colorado and Oregon, grew up on Iowa farm. I love to cook with my nieces and a nephew and now the great-nieces.

My Greatest Cooking Triumph: One year a friend and I got together and had a cookie party open house for everybody we knew. We made more than 90 differen cookie recipes (some frozen ahead) and had 100 or so people over for cookies, coffee and punch. We were foolish enough to do it a second year. We had a booklet of the recipes we used, back in the days when you had to use ditto reproduction.

My Biggest Kitchen Disaster: The hot oil in the cast iron skillet caught on fire and I stupidly set it on the formica counter, where it left a burned brown ring. I was fortunate enough not to have the kitchen catch fire.
