  • Wrapping Christmas gifts

Every year after Christmas, I buy the discounted Christmas fabric and make drawstring bags in various sizes. I haven't bought wrapping paper for several years. You can ask to have the bags back but sometimes they enjoy the wrapping as much as the gift itself. Quite often the people ask if I want...

  • Re: Do you reuse something in some way that others might not know about?

I'm always buying peanut butter in the large double jar package at our wholesale club. The jars are very sturdy, so when the peanut butter's gone, I wash them up in the dishwasher and reuse them. I have several of them and here are a few good uses: * put pens, pencils, scissors, stamps - we keep...

  • Grocery shopping

I am new to this group but have read many of your ideas which sound terrific. There is only 2 of us and I find stretching food a chore. I try to buy only what is necessary and I don't buy what I think for myself is junk. Chips and such. This is for me. No kids. I have tried the weekly menu list but...

  • Quick potatoes & sweet potatoes

As a single person, I have a hard time coming up with meal ideas for only one. When I saw the plastic wrapped baking potatoes in the grocery store, it made an immediate hit with me. But, the price seemed too high many times for what I didn't consider the best potatoes. So, I would pick out from the...
