  • Re: What are you cooking for Christmas Dinner?

I am going to wing it and make either chicken or pork loin roast with apple nut stuffing. I never made stuffing like this before but I don't think it will be a problem. Actually GmawMary you pork with cranbery wild rice stuffing sounds great! Maybe I will just come to your house for dinner. MrsCrickets

  • Re: sweet potatos casserole

I must admit that I am not taking the time to review all the sweet potato recipes to see if one like the following exists. There are so many recipes, and so little time. I made this recipe for the first time in 2007 and everyone at the Thanksgiving table raved about it. I was instructed to bring it again...

  • Making Christmas candy

So today I'm spending the day making Christmas goodies in the kitchen including caramel corn, peanut brittle, old fashioned butter brickle and Christmas Eve pecans. I love cooking this time of year, especially when I've got someone to give it to! Yesterday was bran bread day. My husband's...

  • Caramel Corn in progress...

So I figured I'd get my blog started with a few pics of the caramel corn in progress. The way this is made, you put it in the oven for a total of 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to distribute the caramel. This picture is at the "half way" point of stirring. After it comes out of the...

  • Bran bread as Christmas gifts

So yesterday I made a double batch of my husband's great-grandmother's bran bread recipe. It is soooooo good! Anyway, I didn't have any mini-loaf pans in the house and didn't want to drag the little one out in the cold and mist, so I improvised by making my own pans! I took brown wrapping...
